Puppy Picture
Here is one of his early pictures of taken Dec 4, 2004. He was so small, I could hold him in the palm of my hand. Notice his fluffy toys in the background! We found out all to soon he liked to shred his toys rather than play with them. We bought him a real comfy bed to sleep in at night but he still prefers jumping in bed with either me or my wife Jane. We even have a pillow bed in the living room. When were watching TV, he likes to sleep there when he gets tired. Sometimes, when I'm working late on the computer at night, he will come up to me and start barking. It's his way of telling me to get to bed. |

Rascal's The Name
We went through a number of names for him and soon found out that "Rascal" fit his character best. Right from the get go he manages to get in trouble all the time. He still likes to play games with us. His favorite game is stealing our shoes so that we have to chase him around the house for it. We purchased plenty of toys for him hoping that he would leave our shoes alone. By now, he has quite a collection and of course we can't forget about his bone stash. At night you have to watch where you step especially if you are not wearing shoes.
He loves to walk in the park or rather drag us along. We are slowly breaking him of that habit. He is good with small children but has a problem getting along with other dogs... where is Cesar Millan - The Dog Whisperer when you need him! We love watching his show on the History Channel. I think Rascal would be a real challenge.

Whiskey The Wonder Dog
I know that this page is about Rascal but I felt is was only fair to include a picture of our first rat terrier - Whiskey. We bought him from a pet shop and he was really scared when we brought him home. He was only a few months old, way to early to be taken away from his mother. He had his problems but we loved him anyway. We had to put him to sleep back in November of 2004. It was a very sad for the both us and I still miss him. We swore that we would not get another dog for awhile!! Two weeks later we gave in and found our cute little Rascal. We felt sad about it, but we were to busy raising a new puppy to think about it. |

My Mother's Dog Mitzi - Sorry best picture I could find! Mitzi, a mixed breed terrier female (not related to Rascal), was raised from a puppy by my mother years ago. After my mother passed away, my father, not being a dog person, didn't want to care for her anymore. So, I took her in with me at my apartment. In the few years Mitzi had left, Jane and I took good care of her. She was a very good dog and well behaved, thanks to my mother's love for her. She stayed by my mothers side the whole time she was sick with Cancer. I miss both of them, but I'm glad my mother had such a good companion.
